morning. here's meteorologist lynette charles. >> it is megan. it's cold throughout. it's colder than what it was yesterday morning and temperatures are a lot colder. we're talking about 21 degrees in reisterstown. so yesterday we were above average. today, we are below average. we should be at 25, 26 degrees now for this time of the year for our low temperatures. reisterstown coming in below that and we have the winds to talk about today as well. they will be out of the northwest at about 8 miles an hour. that's what we're seeing now in glen burnie. coming in at 22. and we are at 19. this is your actual temperature in manchester. and we do have a northwest wind at 14 so we're feeling more like the single digits in man chest they are morning. you really need to bundle up as you head out and about. let's switch over and what's going on on maryland's most powerful radar and we are nice and dry. this is doing to be dry for a while. and then we'll see change in the forecast. speaking of the forecast this is the forecast for today. waking up around 7:00 this morning you will get more sunshine in here. and that will continue right into the afternoon with that temperature only arnold 31 degrees -- around 31 degrees. by lunchtime we will be at 35 degrees and then by the evening

we will start to see more clouds move in setting us up for that next storm that will be in here for the weekend. right now let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. good morning lynette. well, good news for those of you in harford county. a three car crash has cleared from the southbound lanes of 95 here at route 24. and as you can see traffic is moving right along. you won't have any problems getting down to white marsh. if there to downtown baltimore. checking in and taking a look at 83 just north of 695, no delays here either. it's going to take you just the normal 11 minutes traveling into the city along the southbound lanes between the beltway and east fayette street. a look at the other abc2 timesaver traffic drive times, the beltway will be free of delays from parkville up to towson. an 11 minute ride on the outer loop from 95 up to 83. we are dealing with a crash on 695 right on the outer loop at route 295. but no delays it's going to take you 11 minutes to travel from 795 down to 95. that's a look at your morning commute. megan and charlie, over to you.

it is two minutes after 5:00 right now and we have breaking news out of cecil county this morning. train cars derailed overnight. in total we're told ten cars went off the tracks. abc2 news linda so is live in elkton this morning. what's the latest right now linda? >> reporter: the scene has been cleared. we're here outside live of the singerly fire department. firefighters from this department were the first to respond to this derailment. it happened at around midnight. the initial call came in that a csx train originating from new york heading to north carolina derailed off the road deep in the woods. ten cars came off the tracks and two of the cars were carrying sulfuric acid. the engineer originally thought cars were leaking and a hazmat clue was called. but when they got to the scene and inspected the damage they found there was no leak at all. for several hours overnight, route 213 which is singerly

road was shut down in both directions but it's now reopened and firefighters have cleared the scene as you can imagine things could have been a lot worse had the cars carrying that acid leaked. we're live in elkton, linda so, abc2 news. now to the latest on the johns hopkins hospital gynecologist accused of videotaping his patients. we now know how he died. according to published reports dr. nikita levy wrote a letter to his wife and then wrapped a bag around his head and pumped it full of helium. more than 300 women have contacted police fearing that they were videotaped because they were his patients. former patients can contact police, them you to. here's the number to call. it's right there on the screen. (410)396-2269. baltimore police did not have permission to conduct exercises at rosewood last week. that's where a trainee was shot

in the head. that man remains in serious condition this morning. meantime the state department and the department of health and mental hygiene which owns the center say they didn't know that training was happening there last tuesday. police are now looking into this. a renowned swim coach is expected to plead guilty to child abuse today. rick curl coached in our state also in virginia. he is accused of abusing former swim student kelly curran in the 1980s. she says the abuse happened at the georgetown facilities in north bethesda. he'll in montgomery circumcourt later this morning. today we're going to find out who the new anne arundel county will be. the council will pick john leopold's replacement. he resigned after being found guilty of misconduct in office. 16 people have applied for the job including former maryland first lady kendel ehrlich and steve schuh and acting executive john hammond. another winter storm is coming and once again we're

30 million people are in the path of a storm that is expected to cover 18 states in snow and ice. it has already hit parts of southern arizona which is unusual. coating the cactus and the palm trees with snow. snow began piling up in kansas wednesday afternoon. crews there plowed and treats the roads but they're still slick and dangerous. >> we want to urge everybody really if you don't have to

feel a lot colder i'm going to show you that in just a minute. pilesville good morning to you, you're at 20, 21 chestertown and 24 northeast and easton you're at 23. mardela springs at 24. here are the wind gusts for today and as we go through time that will continue. the wind gusts up to about 20, 25 miles an hour. making it feel like we are in the teens this morning. and making it feel like we're in the 20s as we go into the afternoon. so all right let's check out the radar satellite composite and we have a few high clouds streaming in across the area this morning. but we will get more sunshine in here as we go throughout the day it's going to turn out to be nice day in the forecast. and thank goodness it is because this is what's on tap for ll have more of the purplish colors, the pinkish toolers, thatst the wintry mix -- colors, that's the wintry mix into friday evening and saturday morning. but in the meantime this is what's going on across the middle of the nation. plenty of snow. they can see up to possibly 2 feet of snow across kansas city and then the further to the south you go, so we're talking about oklahoma, texas, points

off towards the east. they're going to be dealing with some severe weather possibly some isolated tornadoes as they go through the day. so here's that storm track that i'm talking about. this is the one that's going to move off towards the east. and it will be bringing us the possibility again of that wintry mix as we go into the evening time frame. now it all depends on how strong this low is and how much cold air will wrap in it. and also depending upon the track of the system as well. but as for right now that's an onset of a wintry mix. we look at abc2's most accurate future trend and it goes into motion. and we have a nice day today. and then that storm starts to move in across the area. but for today the high temperature coming in at 38 degrees and temperatures will go up from there. we have a nice monday and a nice sunday on tap for us. let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. good morning lynette. we are dealing with a crash right now on 695. it's blocking one outer loop lane right now at route 295. but as you can see it's in the causing any -- not causing any

significant days. right now a seven minute ride on the outer loop from 795 down to 70. and we have some construction on 695 that's cleared from burning highway. everything is up to speed through the key bridge and that will remain the case from parkville all the way up to towson. here's a look at 95 at the fort mchenry tunnel. at the toll plaza. no delays whatsoever. 895 we of course have all the construction but no problems reported getting through the harbor tunnelers. a live look at the harrisburg expressway. traffic is moving right along. it will remain nice if clear as you -- and clear as you get on to the jfx and head downtown. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan and charlie, over to you. thousands of dollars was stolen from a charity devote today helping children. >> the boys and girls club of annapolis was burglarized overnight. 14 laptops and two tvs were piped from the building. the total value adds up to more than $15,000 and can toughest part is telling the -- the toughest part is telling the
